![]() | BROOKE BIGGIEWhy do you wish to serve on the WVSCA Board? Prior to being asked to serve on the Board, I had always felt a deep passion for advocating for students, shaping policies, and elevating the school counseling profession. I wanted to be part of something bigger and have the opportunity to collaborate and learn with fellow professionals, influence meaningful change, and find ways to advocate for my student. After serving on the board for the last six months, my passion for this work has only grown stronger. I have seen firsthand the impact that collaboration, leadership, and advocacy can have on both students and school counselors statewide. This experience has reinforced my desire to continue giving back to the profession, mentoring new counselors, and shaping best practices that benefit our schools and communities. Serving on the board has provided me with valuable professional development (conference presentation and serving as the conference chair), strengthened my leadership skills, and expanded my network, allowing me to grow as both an advocate and educator. Most importantly, it has reaffirmed my commitment to fostering inclusivity and empowering students. Given the privilege to serve is not just a responsibility, but an opportunity to make a lasting impact for school counselors and the students we serve. Describe two of your leadership attributes:

ANNA SIMMONSWhy do you wish to serve on the WVSCA Board? It has been such an honor and a privilege to serve as a board member of the WVSCA. I have deeply enjoyed the work of a board member and watching the association grow and evolve over the years. I would be grateful for the opportunity to continue working with the board on expanding the association's presence in the state as the leading advocate for school counselors, the school counseling profession, and student needs.
