The american counseling association is a not-for-profit, professional and educational organization that is dedicated to the growth and enhancement of the counseling profession. founded in 1952, aca is the world's largest association exclusively representing professional counselors in various practice settings.  by providing leadership training, publications, continuing education opportunities, and advocacy services to nearly 45,000 members, aca helps counseling professionals develop their skills and expand their knowledge base.

National Center for School Counseling Outcome Research
The Center for School Counseling Outcome Research is dedicated to improving the practice of school counseling by developing the research base that is necessary for responsible and effective practice.  The Center provides national leadership in the measurement and evaluation of the outcomes of school counseling interventions and programs.

The Center for Excellence in School Counseling and Leadership (CESCaL)
The Center’s mission is to promote excellence in the field of school counseling and to assist school counselors, their site and central office administrators as they design, implement and evaluate their school counseling programs. CESCaL will provide training by national leaders in school counseling, on-line support for creating school counseling programs and consultation from state and national leaders in school counseling and administration with experience in implementing ASCA National ModelĀ® school counseling programs.

National Center for Transforming School Counseling at the Education Trust
The National Center for Transforming School Counseling (TSC) works with a network of organizations, state departments of education, school counselor professional associations, higher education institutions, and school districts dedicated to transforming school counselors into powerful agents of change in their schools and in the lives of students.  By arming school counselors with the data and knowledge to help schools raise achievement and close gaps, TSC takes school counselors from the margins to the mainstream of the mission of schools—preparing all students for access and success in a wide array of postsecondary options.

Journal for School Counseling
The JSC is dedicated to publishing articles that promote the effective practice of school counseling.  The mission of the journal is to promote a community of scholarship that includes the thoughts, practices and research of school counselors and counselor educators from throughout the nation.  JSC is sponsored by the College of Education, Health & Human Development at Montana State University and Hyalite, LLC, publisher of The Guide.

National Board for Certified Counselors
The National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) is the nation's premier professional certification board devoted to credentialing counselors who meet standards for the general and specialty practices of professional counseling, including school counseling.

WV Department Education School Counseling Site

The WVDE School Counseling website is a wonderful resource for counselors.  WV School Counselors can check out the new the new Demonstration Site Version of the new School Counselor Evaluation Guide and sign up for the listserv.
